Before the assessment

An invitation gives the assessment name, time and deadline. The intro page sets the instructions and AI rules before the timer starts. 90% of candidates say the instructions for using AI were clear.

Interview candidates can run a practice interview first, so the shared environment is familiar before the session that counts.

Assessments run in a supported web browser with nothing to install. Where the hiring team enables hidden app detection, candidates install the lightweight Codility desktop app for that assessment and are told in advance.

During the assessment

Engineering candidates

Engineering candidates work in a coding environment with the languages and frameworks the task calls for. Project work runs in VS Code with a terminal and tests, and, when your team enables it, the AI Assistant, Claude Code or Codex.

Business candidates

Business candidates read the brief with source files and spreadsheets open beside it, work with the assistant and submit a written response. Tasks run 5 to 60 minutes.
